Hello Everybody

In response to "Where did everyone go" thread, I'll attempt a comeback to Landscape forum with a few of my recent photos from Dolomites, Italy, that I visited after 5 years. One of the reasons of my inactivity here on Landscape forum was the shift to other types of photography over the last few years, including doing quite a lot of paid work and thus not being able to dedicate as much time to landscapes as I wished. I never left the FM, and posted my latest work on Canon board (yes I still shoot these ancient things) and I posted some of the relevant work here in the year end threads.

Cinque Torri is a famous rock formation located just outside of Cortina d'Ampezzo. This was number one on my list of things to photograph, because 5 years ago during my last visit, I never went there. This very nice and very brief sunset (lasted about 1 minute) was a reward for our eventful climb to the top. Not that it's a hero story material, but long story short, you're allowed to do much more and drive much further in Italian mountains than here in Slovakia. Lesson learned.

I'll consider posting more as I'll have them ready.

Beautiful. At first I thought it was a misspelling for Cinque Terra (on the Adriatic coast)

Thank you all for the warm reception. I'm glad you liked the photo as well as the processing. I, too, am happy with the subtle approach. My only regret is that I missed out some nice light during the walking. Had I known the driving was allowed, I could've had more than 1 hour of additional shooting. This way I really got lucky as it seemed to be heading towards a cloudy evening - which it indeed was for the most part.

Thank you. Yes, it can get a little confusing, as the names are very similar. Cinque Torri is 5 towers and Cinque Terre is 5 "lands". Although Cinque Terre is located on Ligurian coast (western), not Adratic (eastern).

The clarity was also the courtesy of the weather. Not too warm and just after several drizzles. The very next day was definitely affected by the warmer weather. Had we been driving instead of walking, I'd definitely have some killer yellow light shots too. I saw the light on the forest trees that we were walking through.

But after driving in the car all day for almost 700 kilometers prior to visiting this location, one is allowed to make decitions that are bad I guess...
