So I've been using my XT2 bodies with old Pocket Wizards and old-fashioned Dynalite packs for a few shoots now. So far so good, when I set the correct Preview thingy in Screen Setup.

Trouble today, though. I was dialed in to my usual 1/250, f8, ISO 200 and typical pack settings. But I was getting erratic exposure, usually way too bright. Then I realized that exposure was spot-on when I used manual focus. It's almost like the lens wasn't stopping down correctly when I was using AF.

I don't mind using MF for portraits, but it was dark and the whole thing was a pain. And it doesn't really make sense. Anyone know what's going on?

PS I really want to use ISO 100 sometimes, but the "low" setting on the dial sets the ISO to 200. I dug around the menus and searched, and I don't see how to tell it to be 100.

Don't know what's going on with your flash sync but I do think you have to enable "expanded ISO mode" or something in the settings to use the Low and High settings. Don't use them much but I remember running into similar quandary a while ago.

Hmm, assuming you're in manual on both camera and strobe, that shouldn't be happening. Even if the flash sync was screwing up for whatever reason, it'd result in a dark or partially dark frame, not over-exposure.

It sounds like you're in auto mode on your camera in one of your settings.
