I pick #2. I find the power lines in #1 grab my eyes away from the rain. I also like the contrast in the sky in # better.

no question 2. The foreground with curves without the distraction of the road, poles, wires etc... makes for a nice clean image.

I like 2 better as well. It's actually quite funny. You can imagine 1 took more effort out of me to make the power lines aligned perfectly with the corner.

I guess simple is indeed better.
