I was taking a picture of a muskrat feeding on a log, when it's mate swam up to join it. Quite an unexpected picture. Picture was taken in Carburn Park, here in Calgary.

Nice sharp well exposed image Gordon. I'm wondering if a lower viewpoint was possible and also if you could have left more on the right side.

Thanks Morris. Lower viewpoint, unfortunately, was not possible. I was up high, right on the edge of the bank of the river and the muskrats were below. Yes, I did crop a little tightly on the right side, but was afraid of having the subjects too centred by cropping less, but probably could have cropped by a lower amount on that side. I did look at cropping on the left side instead, but liked this crop better. Thanks again.

A lower viewpoint would not have shown their feet as well, and the cropping works for me.

Thanks all. I was very lucky to capture this. I don't see the muskrats interacting with each other very much. I have got lots of shots of individuals before, but this is my first shot of a pair together like this. Thanks again for all the great feedback and comments.
