| p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Astrophotography and Milky Way | Lens Recommendations | |
Hi All,
This has probably been discussed many times already. I have been doing some general google-ing, but wanted to get your opinion on what lenses are the most suited for astrophotography and the milky way. I will probably eventually invest in a start-tracker, but currently just seeking suggestions for the generic 2--30 sec. frame. I shoot a 5D4, and understand that the bar is set by the Nikkor 12-24. The Canon 16-35 III is on my radar, however I am not just limiting myself to Canon. Especially, I understand that Sigma, Tokina and Rokinon also make excellent lenses when it comes to this regard.
PS: I am ideally looking for suggestions regarding anything < f2.8 and anything <21 mm. My thoughts are that I will probably get a 16-35 f4 IS (IS, cheaper, lighter, very sharp) for handheld/landscapes and use a 'night' lens specifically for astro/milky way. If this has already been discussed in depth here and the topic is redundant, if you could pls post the link on here that would be greatly appreciated!!
Regards, Ani.
