Beautiful image Ken, perfect shutter speed. The haze provides nice depth in this.
Thanks kindly Dale! I agree, of course, with the shutter speed comment. The water needs depth and texture in this situation.

Good of you to take the time to view and comment Randy. Thank you.

Very nice movement in the river and the rock in the center with the water flowing adds to the image. Also like the wet rocks which does a lot for the color. It does feel a bit to me like there should be more on the top of the image. If you have more on top you could try a taller crop. Or could be something you are purposely cropping out.
I do have other versions with different framing, but I'm not keen on the bleh grey sky. This one, I felt, was the best of the lot.

I think if OP had included more at the top of the image, the haze from the smoke would have detracted from the overall look and feel. In general, I've been avoiding the sky during the fire season. Washington summers for the last couple years have been extremely hazy from smoke. B.C, Alberta, and all the western states have the same problem, and I suspect it's just going to get worse each year. Western landscape photographers are going to have to re-think summertime big vista type shots unless someone comes up with a smoke cutting filter. Youtube has several videos where landscape photographers are forced to come back in a different season because the smoke obliterates the view beyond a few hundred yards (Adam Gibbs is a perfect example).

You are correct Chis. A bit higher, and the image starts to include swaths of even tone zone 8 and 9 grey. Horrible stuff. Yes, we may need to adjust a lot. Sunrise through sunset, and I've heard night time too, was obliterated by smoke for large portions of the summer here in Alberta.
Thanks a bunch for commenting and viewing.
