Took this yesterday on our family trip to Maui. One of the most unit landscapes I have seen. The drive up to the crater is ridiculous which involves my 2 year old puking all over the car, but it was worth it.

Been years since I've visited and I don't remember this amazing view. I do remember the drive though.. mainly because I did the same thing your 2yo did.

Drive sucked. I'm glad only 1/8 of us got sick. I told my wife that we are unlikely to make that drive again, so lets push through it.

I used to live just bedore the first cattle guard on the road. We had quite a bit of fun up there skate boarding and racing supèrbikes. This was quite a long timw ago though. crator looks the same its one of my favorite hikes but at the switch backs. Not fond of the sliding sands going from the peak.

In daughter's defense, maybe daddy showed her the beautiful landscape with the strongly tilted horizon, and it took her past the tipping point

(Just out of empathy: I did the same thing at that age. The Dr. recommended two things: (1) only sip liquids, no chugs, and (2) some teaspoons of Coca Cola syrup. These fixed the problem, and I've enjoyed road trips ever since.)
