p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Tetons

The last stop (where I had much time to take landscapes) on our massive road trip this summer. Man, I want to go back now! A lot of these are ubiquitous scenes, but I wanted to try my hand at shooting them, since I've never been here before.

#1. Snake River Overlook. Shot midday on our way to Jackson for some food, so I opted to go B&W.
#2. Snake River Overlook that evening. While most of the Teton range is made for sunrise shots, I like how this one turned out. The clouds in the north and the haze from the fires to the west made for some nice colors, and I was treated to a little blue sunbeam as the sun dipped below the horizon.
#3. Oxbow Bend at sunrise. Most of the shots I've seen her use a telephoto to fill the frame with Mt. Moran and its reflection, but I wanted to show the whole scene a little more.
#4. John Moulton barn. Converted to B&W because the light wasn't very interesting when I was there midday.
#5 (added late, missed it somehow when I was grabbing files). Sunbeams on the range from Hwy 191 pullout.
#6. Sunbeams on Jackson Lake before sunset.
#7. Alpenglow on the range at Schwabacher Landing. One of my favorite mornings of the entire trip. Had lots of fun seeing a moose up close and personal (shot #3 here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1556378 ) on my way to set up for this shot, and then had a great time meeting a couple other photogs who were there for the sunrise also.
#8. Golden hour at Schwabacher Landing. Same shot as #7 with different light (ten minutes later). I like both of them for different reasons, but thought I'd post both to see if folks here had a preference.

Thank you! No, spread out over 3 days with family activities interspersed.

An excellent set of images. The last two are the most interesting and, although I like them both, I prefer the last one.

Thank you so much, Dave! I'm glad you like them; I think I prefer #7 a hair over #8, but I still find myself going back and forth on it a bit...(trying to decide which of the two to print and hang).

Easy. Print both. Hang both. Live with them for a while. Eventually you will take one down and replace it.
