As the title says, we just got home from a massive family road trip. The focus of my photography was landscapes, but it's impossible to go through those parks without seeing some awesome wildlife, so I tried to capture what I could with my 70-200 + 1.4x extender on either my 5D4 or 80D (obviously not a ton of reach, so my shots don't compare with most of the amazing wildlife shots you see posted here, but I wanted to share them anyway, because I had a ton of fun taking them).
#1. Elk on the top of a hill at dusk in Teddy Roosevelt National Park.
#2. Pronghorn antelope in front of the bison herd hanging out in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone.
#3. One of my favorite moments of the trip: I was at Schwabacher Landing in the Tetons before sunrise, and came around a bend in the beaver ponds to see this moose just chillin' and enjoying his breakfast. In retrospect, I should have gone with a higher ISO so I could use a faster shutter speed, but oh well. I was able to get a few useable shots at the settings I was shooting, and had such a great time watching him.
#4. Discovered these bighorns grazing near the gravel road in Badlands National Park and watched them for about 45 minutes. My wish was granted when they went out onto this ridge to hang out for a few minutes after having their fill of grass. The guy on the left seemed to be the dominant one in the group.
Comments and critiques are always welcome. Thanks for looking!
