This has been the wettest July I remember here in New York City and yesterday with flash flood warnings in the forecast I headed to the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. Only a few people had come to the park and I love it like that as more wildlife is out in the open. A little while before I took this image there was a brief shower that left just me and the park manager. When I visited the osprey nest this, the most aggressive fledgling, was on the perch that mom used to watch the chicks from. Suddenly she looked up and squacked, I looked where the chick was looking and did not see what she saw. As the fledgling continued to behave like this for about a minute, something must have been up in the clouds.

Morris, good shot, shooting in adverse conditions, gives us some shot we normally catch.

I think the Osprey was trying to tell you something

That's a great image of this osprey! you got a killer calling pose! my only wish is for more room all around the bird as it looks a bit tight.

My flash saw that bright sky and over did it. Easy to correct by adjusting the black point.

I tried a few other compositions with more space and to my eye as well as my wife and son this worked better. I was surprised as I saw the same thing as you.

Lovely shot. It must have something to do with adolescence. The Juvi's were squawking today, continuously. The constant cries were so pitiful.
