During my mid-June trip to the Outer Banks, NC, it took two tries to get the Milky Way as clouds came in thick during the first try. Around 11pm on the first evening, I was able to get it horizontal in the sky, but as the night went on, the clouds came in. The second evening a few days later, the sky was pretty clear and I was able to shoot the 3:30am Milky Way upright with the lighthouse. Shot at 14mm and 24mm, with and without the light brightly shining. The last image is from night one, which shows the clouds coming in and just starry sky. C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. I’ll have to check my editing process. First time editing a Milky Way shot. Last shot should be blue as it was close to the sun rise blue hour.

Nice set Rick! I especially like your strong light beams in your last blue hour image.

Did you have any yotes fighting near you as you were standing there in the dark?

This lighthouse looks strangely familiar to me.

I wanted to wait as long as possible to post my shots to make sure your image got all its glory! I didn't hear anything or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but the bugs and flies sure were aggravating. Luckily each night there were one or two others, so it wasn't as spooky being out there in the dark. No snakes!

Here are the coordinates if that is what you are asking, 35.8186° N, 75.5631° W

It's the Bodie Island Lighthouse in the Outer Banks.

Thank you, yes coordinates are great, was the latitude I was intrigued in, somewhat lower than me at 51° as the rho ophiuchi region is visible in the milky way.
