Beautiful Lake Minnewanke, located in the Canadian Rockies, is a popular tourist spot. But down in this section of the lake, it is a bit more secluded. Leg or paddle power will get you there. Some will use motorized boats too, but there are not too many, so peacefulness is still obtainable.

Such a great straight forward image! Thank you for sharing it!

I have to be honest and say I wish the distracting Canoe's were not in the shot. But that is just me.

What is it that caught your attention and what do you want the viewer to see?

To me the center of interest is the mountain peak surrounded by clouds. For me the canoes don't help and the large log and gravel are even more distracting.

Good of you to take the time to comment Mark. If I imagine what could have been, I agree about the boats. They are far enough away that they lose any sense of importance to the overall image.

Thanks for providing some feedback Jim. I wasn't looking for a wide, narrow pano look here, which is what you would get by having only mountain in the image. Agreed, the canoes are a bit of a distraction as they don't play any significant role in the story.

I have a little different take on this one Ken

I like how the log resembles an arm with up-reaching fingers that push the viewer to the BG. The upturned rowing or paddling boat(silver) is OK with me as it almost tells the story of how you got here and the glow on it just feels right to me. The other thin orange line ([possible boat) at the very end of the log could easily disappear perhaps
What doesn't work for me is the red object/float or bouy item, it doesn't harmonize in the scene.

Wow, I could spend time here to revitalize my soul
Overall it is pretty inviting to me!
Karl

Hey Karl. Hope things are going well. There are three boats on the beach. Red canoe, white tandem kayak, and an orange canoe. Cloning out the orange one would be easy. Probably the red one too for that matter. I was shooting the leading log/water ine and mountain, and tuned out the other visuals in the image. Doing really good landscapes is a learned art that I haven't quite acquired yet, but getting better as I started trying to capture some interesting scenes once in a while. Thanks for commenting!

I love the dramatic clouds and the log. Amazing.
However, those boats on the beach should (ideally) have been moved by you before taking the shot.
To salvage the image you can clone them out. They break the image IMO. They don't belong.

Yup. Consensus says to remove the boats. Thanks for the feedback Gordon.

Nice composition. And who needs strong sunlight?
