These are the last 4 images of a burst of 16 images of a diving juvenile peregrine falcon where the entire falcon was visible and with less clutter. Nothing special I am just pleased with the ability of the gear to keep up with the action. The last image is of the same falcon but perching on a branch higher up.

Beautiful set Joshua. It looks like people are starting to use the Sony bodies for wildlife. The third party adapters appear to work well and are helping make the migration possible. Of cause Sony would love to have everyone purchase there lenses.

Fabulous images of the fast flying machine, Joshua. Great tracking skill with A9 and the beast.

Awesome work with the falcon Joshua. Once that A9 locks just once it never lets go even with the adapted lenses....a big difference to DSLRs that always miss shots in a burst.

Eric, thank you very much! Indeed, that’s the main reason that I am pleased with the results.

Thank you very much, Morris! I have been using Sony pretty much one body or the other starting in late 2013. Only starting with the A9 in the summer of last year, BIF photography has become feasible and yes, you are right, the advancement in the 3rd party adapters plays a significant role in that. In a few months, the first long supertele lens will be officially introduced; they have shown the prototype of that lens. Just the anticipated pricing makes us, Sony users, shudder....

The ridiculous over pricing of camera equipment will either put some big names out of the business or they will wise up and reduce prices going for volume. The pressure from the third party lens makers as well as m43 is likely to cut the cost of high end gear in half over the next few years and that trend will continue for the next decade or two. There is no reason a high end body should cost much more than a consumer body. The manufactures are exploiting what the market will bare.
