Thursday was a beautiful day here in New York City following weeks of clouds and rain. I arrived at Nickerson Beach shortly after they stopped charging the crazy $37 day parking fee and headed to the nesting area. As I got close I saw a small group of photographers down low a bit back from the nesting area and I knew this meant the oystercatchers chicks were out playing. I set my tripod up for kneeling as I would have to shoot over some grass and then approached slowly with the late day sun mostly behind me.

What's this...Morris is stalking chicks!!!?
Nice set Morris! Must be some fluffy sand
as the chicks' feet seem to sink into it.
