Hi Fred.
I too think this is a very beautiful image but with even more potential.
I do not see the bushes as too bright as much as I see the very strong indication of an ND or a blending issue in the shadows of the image (the trees and along the horizon line). A simple custom Luminosity Mask, or the Layer Style Blending Sliders, and a careful dodge (or even better using Photoshop Smart Objects) would correct that in a minute or two easily. In fact it might even be correctable in Raw. So, for me, it is more about the shadows being blocked up (plugged) and the noticeable blend on the ridge-line and trees. I believe that once the shadow areas are corrected, it might not need much correction because nothing in the grass or land seems to be blown out or clipping to my eye.
Feel free to email me ([email protected]) if you want me to help you with this (I do this for my living). I'd offer my services for free here just to help. I'd record it (MP4 Video) so maybe you could benefit from the techniques...

Thanks, Mark for looking, and more importantly, for your insightful comments. You are correct about the poor blending, etc. As I recall, this image was quite underexposed and I decided to play with it in LR3. My PP skill is very poor, so any help I can get is appreciated. I will go back into my files to find the original, and probably email you. I'm always willing to learn. Thanks again!
