For some reason when I post some photos like these to Instagram they just look greyed out. Facebook and Flickr look fine to me. Do you guys think i'm doing something wrong or does Instagram just sometimes crush the contrast / saturation?

They sure look great here! I cannot speak for social media but my best guess is Instagram's color management is sub par quality.

Might have something to do with the colour profile, theses images are in Adobe RGB. Web and device profiles should be sRGB.

Since IG images are typically viewed on one's phone, and the phones are not generally color managed and the phone screens are somewhat in the sRGB ballpark, that is the color space you need to use for IG. Your Adobe RGB images would have lower pixel values for the same saturation than sRGB and consequently would tend to look desaturated on a non color managed device.

I would also echo that they look great here too and the other posts have good insight into it probably being the color profile issue. On an anecdotal basis, I always have to increase the warmth and saturation for Instagram while they otherwise look great on Facebook (after using Photoshop on my MacBook Pro).

These images are excellent and if Instagram's inadequacies caused you to post them here, we should thank Instagram profusely. I don't have a problem with how Instagram presents my pics. Perhaps the advice above can help. Tell us what happens if you do use the suggestions you have been given. (add a link to your Instagram site if you please).

Put it in srgb, everything is good. Millers told me I should be sending files over in srgb also.
