not too many comments, surprising.

I am open to CC folks if you arent a fan.

I used to frequent these boards back before I got really sick, and one thing I enjoyed was the brutal honesty. So please feel free to pick it apart. Only way for me to grow.

EDIT: Thanks Goodegg, she was a trooper standing in an inch of mulch to get the shot too haha

It is a great subject. My "take" is not that I am not a fan, it is the fact that the branches distract from her facial features, shoulders and head.
But heh...please take this as a constructive comment. You have all the ingredients of a fine image. Just some fine tuning.

Good point Dan, it does look a little messy/crowded with where she is posed.

I struggled with that, I took shots at different angles, but none of them really spoke to me, probably should have went to another area tbh

I think, largely speaking, when people on this forum aren't moved by an image, they're less likely to comment. She 's facing away from the camera, and as Dan already mentioned the branches obscure her a bit and are distracting. This location looks pretty cool, and I bet you have other images that we'd like much better.

This will probably mimic what Ron and others have said, but just wanted to give you my 2 cents. Having a full-time job that isn’t in photography I tend to browse a lot, but don’t always commit to replying to people’s posts.
I also don’t have a lot of confidence in my work at times and will hold back on critiquing others in any way, feeling I may not have the best foundation to give any insight myself.

That being said, she is a absolutely stunning and I love the setting with the flowers and the exposure itself looks spot on. The abundance of the flowers overwhelms the image and makes her disappear to a point. If she was brought a few feet closer to reveal more of the lower half of her body (even if she still occupied about the same percentage of the frame), it would probably make her much more of a focal point. There is a flower branch by her left shoulder that also competes with her face. She has beautiful eyes, but I feel like I’m seeing too much of the whites on the left side...which I know can be difficult myself even if I turn their head or attempt to change my angle from my perspective.
Just a few things that I noticed, but I’m still green with shooting portraits and have a lot to work on myself.

2,4 and 8 are my favorites. It's hard to notice everything, but attention to detail can lift a photo to another level.

On #2, there is an errant weed in front of her left arm. That could have been dealt with at capture, but now it should be easy to remove. Also on #2, the sun is shining on her shoes. That creates a contrasty OOF blob that pulls attention away from her lovely face.

#4 is very nice, but I would crop to eliminate the light on the far right of the frame. I like the fact that she is in her graduation gown.

She has such a lovely smile in #8. You can help her out a little by getting her to turn her torso a little so it is not square to the camera.

I have ambivalent feelings about her wearing her graduation cap with that dress. Part of me thinks it's a cute idea, while part of me think there's a disconnect.
