I think in the avatar section it should be recommended that instead of posting what gear you own, perhaps it should state what your experience level is, and that way when you respond to post viewers will have an understanding of where you are coming from. Ask yourself what is this photo trying to portray? Is it a beautiful woman in a graveyard? Maybe someone attending a church event. I believe the background structure is a mausoleum or crypt found in graveyards. If that's the case it would indicate maybe she's in mourning. Clearly, that's not the case as it looks like a fashion shoot. Confusion? The pose is a distracting. Never have a woman standing out in the open with a hand in her hair at an awkward angle and the right arm not quite sure what it's doing. Never pose someone, the time to hit your shutter is when there is a gesture. the lighting I don't want to go on it would take another paragraph. I would just say this I've been doing photography for over 40 years, took the Ansel Adams workshops in 1970 with him, assisted Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton in my early career and opened a commercial studio that over the course of 30 yrs booked 2+ million in revenue. Anyone interested I could teach a workshop on storyboarding a project. Fair enough. You raise some valid points/questions.
Having said that, sometimes "art" doesn't have to have a solid concept. I'm not necessarily saying that's applicable here, but there are times where people can produce a "pretty" image or visually pleasing art, without needing a solid and well thought through concept. Sometimes a state of suspended-disbelieve is necessary when viewing art.
