Uganda Orphans - Good Samaritan Ministries
Can you imagine American children so desperate to learn, that on their OWN initiative, get up early on a Saturday morning to sit in the grass, and STUDY each other's schoolwork?
Here, MUCH dearer to my heart than photography is the championing work of helping the most marginalized, overlooked, abandoned, defenseless and vulnerable people in the world.
My WEBSITE is getting remade/overhauled and will have a much better presentation about the humanitarian work I have been immensely privileged to do for over 20 years. GSM is a pure and effective non-profit that focuses on empowering others to help themselves have and create a better world.
The main center (of 10) and school in Kiwangala Uganda has 1400 children going to school (preschool through High School) and 400 orphans in the orphanage (many families in the area help by taking in the other orphans).
We are in desperate need of paying our teachers so that the school does not get shut down by the government. About 50 of the 70 teachers are sponsored, but we desperately need the other 20 sponsored! $200 a month might be a lot for some but divided among, say four people ($50 a month) makes this a very reasonable privilege. Shoot, we can easily spend $50 a month on the most frivolous things here in America like Starbucks!
If you are interested in more information or want to help, simply message me.
Lastly, expect a Uganda Photography Workshop in 2019!
Thank you very sincerely,
Mark Metternich
