Hello FMers,

I am going on a 3 day trip to Miami in mid-May and have about 1 day to dedicate to some bird/wildlife photography. I will be have about 3 full days there.

I have heard that Everglades National Park / Florida in general is great for shooting birds in the spring. I am wondering if any of you had recommendations on where I should go for some bird photography. I am looking to minimize driving. 2-3 hrs each way at best.

I will have the Sony a9 and 100-400 with 1.4x TC and maybe a 70-300 on a crop body.

Shark Valley
The Anhinga Trail
Make at least one trip all the way to Flamingo and visit all the ponds there and back

Bring repellent!

Shark Valley is a good stop along the Tamiami Trail (U S 41). There are others, as well, but I forget the names. Easy to spot. Below are some web sites that may help, but there are many places for good birding in the Miami area. Google will find them.
