p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Castles in the Sand

I was able to make it to Mesquite Dunes this past Friday. Prior days were seriously windy, but there was a lull in the winds on Friday. Another friend of mine met @tmiller9 on the eastern side of the dunes to shoot across the field to the west. The dunes were pristine. No sign of footsteps anywhere. It was awesome being the first out there.

For this shot, I focus stacked 4 images at 300mm. One image for the mid to background and 3 images for the foreground ridge.

Nice place and nice picture. If you allow me a little remark, it's as if there were two images, the foreground and the background, both are interesting to explore.

I love the play of light and shadows in your image, very nicely captured

So this is what you were looking at! I've looked at this a few times - and I am always drawn to the center, transition portion of the image. Really like the way you've captured and presented the blowing (and glowing) sand. Has a very granular feel (pun intended).
