These were taken two days apart. Which one is your favorite of the four?

65mm, 21mm, 40mm (last 3).

My favorite is the first of the three taken with the Voigtlander 40mm 1.2. I like the balance between sky and mountains.

Fred - all of them are lovely. I especially like #2 for the composition and #4 for the drama.

Really hard to pick they are all lovely! The first Nokton image is perhaps a slight favorite.

Lovely set. I love that you have the three different focal lengths.

IMO, the 21 is far too wide for this location - too much in the frame and not enough compression. The 65 is a bit too compressed. The 40 is just perfect for this particular viewpoint IMO.

That said, the clouds in 2, 4 and 5 really add to the images. I'd take 4 as a favorite.

I reallly like all of them, but if forced to choose, #3 would be my favorite. I love the balance of the mountains and sky, and also love the placement of the falls in that one.

2 is my favorite. Lit up clouds both balance and contrast the rock piles.

Three. If it were a large print, one might be my choice. Are you renting or leasing those clouds?

The second one is my favorite.

That is some crazy cloud action, Fred. All of them are outstanding images.
My fav is the one from the 21mm as the mountains and those clouds seem so well-aligned with one another!

Fine work, Fred. I lean to the 2nd. I like how the clouds mesh with the valley.

#2. Like the cloud shapes/formation the best, and the warmth in the rock faces below. Beautiful light!

Thanks Alex. The fast 40/1.2 has become my favorite lens even for landscapes.

I knew it was a bit risky to shoot this scene at 21mm but I had to try. The sky was calling for it.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for your feedback! I agree that 40/50mm is perhaps the sweet spot for this location but it was fun to experiment. Last year I tried it with a 135mm...talk about compression!

I'm actually surprised that the second (21mm capture) is a favorite from many who comment here.
Thanks for the feedback!
