Is anyone planning to try and adapt the new low distortion Sigma 14-24/2.8 for Canon/Nikon?

Do you all think the corner performance will be acceptable adapted? I'm not worried about adapted autofocus speed, mainly IQ.

I actually thought I'm done with adapters exept vintage glass for fun. My plan was to buy the 12-24/f4 from Sony...

But this lens really picks my interest: It's a 2.8 AND quite a bit cheaper than the Sony. However the adapter needs to be bought, too and size and weight are probably noticably higher...

I would expect the corner performance to be a tad worse than with the Sony but that's not my worrying point at all. For me it boils down to a size/weight comparison including the adapter. I'm willing to accept some more weight for f/2.8, but not a whole lot, so I need to see and feel the difference to decide...

For me the range of this lens is for landscapes and f 2.8 is not required. I'd get the Sony 12-24 before this lens.

I probably don't need the f2.8 often. The low distortion is interesting as I do shoot many architectural or interior subjects.

Only if the coma performance and wide open sharpness is outstanding. Otherwise, the Laowa 15/2 would seem like a better option for astro ... and native and a lot smaller/lighter!

This put me in an embarrassing situation. I did plan to buy Sony's 12-24 to replace my 16-35f4 ZA. If Sigma's 14-24 is better optically I really don't mind buying an F mount version and use it via an adapter.
