Took this photo just as the sun was setting in Zabriskie Point in Death Valley CA.
This is a 28 photo stack with 4sec shutter speed each to reduce noise.
Am pretty excited the 24-105 is working out great for me.

A lovely composition and very nice mage, updawg, especially when viewed with a black background.

As someone not familiar with the A7RII's capabilities, can you explain to me why you shot a 28 image stack in this case and provide some insight into your post processing workflow?

They are probably referring to the Smooth Reflection app for the image stack. As Fred Miranda mentioned in another post, given you are averaging noise, the noise in the shadows should be improved compared with a single shot.

znikon5 is right, I used the smooth refections app to stack to reduce noise in the darker areas.
Even though the app is native to some sony cameras, the same can be done with any camera by taking multiple images and mean stacking them. I;ve started using this technique to get sharper photos.

Pretty amazing place...I was there for sunrise about 6 years ago......simply breathtaking...and getting there from Vegas in February was a trip all by itself to make it there and be the first photographer setting up.........Always enjoy The Point
