We were in the Eastern Sierras in the second week of October, 2017. Some of the upper elevations had already lost the colors but the lower elevations were at their peak.

Here is McGee Creek an hour or so after sunrise. The sun peeks over a mountain and for a few minutes the water turns golden. It is almost like liquid gold flowing down the creek.

We were lucky to be there.
