I've been quite fortunate so far this winter in having many different type woodpeckers visit my backyard suet feeder, Pileated, Downy, Hairy and Flickers. Here's a few shots of a Flickers that's in my backyard everyday. These were all shot while trying out my Mag Mod instead of my Better Beamer.

Great shots Louie. The flickers around my yard are super shy and scare easily even with all my feeders. You did good getting these nice shots. Maybe Washington State flickers are less shy.
How do you like the Mag Mod compared to the BB? I have neither and no flash but am considering adding a flash and one of those for all these dark rainy days.

Thank you Geoff. First these guys are super shy I've found if I stay a certain distance from them I stand a much better chance of getting a shot. I usually shoot out the kitchen sliding door so I'm somewhat hidden.
As to the Mag Mod, I like it much better than the BB. 100% easier to attach and take-off. Once you have the Mag Mod mounting attachment secured to the flash unit itself you leave it on then it's just a matter of snapping the bellow with the lens on to the mounting. So you only have one part to contend with rather than 4 parts. As to the flash power, so far I've found very little difference at all between the BB output and the Mag Mod. I don't shoot all that much with a flash but when I do this is going to be a real winner, which it already has been shooting in my backyard.

Thank you very much Ron for pointing this out to me, I didn't even recognize that little dot. Given that I now know what that little white dot is, it's easily corrected, thanks again.
All of these are beautiful, but #3 is really special for the pose, great perch and clean background. And, by the way, you've done a superb job in exposure and processing.
