Actually this is 34mm and its just as good as 29mm but I see a very slight increase over F4 at 5.6 but man you got to look for it. Real world never notice it.

Okay at 50mm I see a little bigger jump from F4 to F5.6 but after that it does not get any better. Im floored folks for a zoom this is amazingly consistent so far.

Okay at 68mm F4 looks really nice but I barely see a jump at 5.6 but F8 I do. BTW same with 105. So we are basically losing a stop of IQ in the corners. Frankly I expected this, its got to fall off somewhere and Sony is known for it to happen at the long end of a zoom

Still really good. F8 if your very critical same with 105mm. Which BTW i had to shoot only halve the building I can not get back any further. So I shot the left side. Coming next

At 105mm I see a clear increase in Fstops as F8 is the best

from the samples, the IQ is very like the 12-24G. pretty darn usable wide open, very good stopped down, but a tad behind strong primes.

Lets say very strong primes here as this beats a lot of glass out there. 28,35,50 are very very good and 24mm is nothing to sneeze at either. Im here just to show my results your money your call but i know what I'm buying.

It can’t replace any primes except for a landscape shooter, even then i am not sure.
85 F4 can’t replace a 85/1.8. The whole idea is different. Neither 50/4 can replace a humble 50/1.8. The pictures are totally different.

if it went all the way to 200mm and maintained IQ, I'de be all over it

The lens looks real good, I just dont have any place for it. I've got the pair of cz zooms for landscapes, and a pair of 2.8 zooms for event type work, which hardly ever get used as is.... gear junky
