Superb set! Loved the quetzals, the frog shown with eggs, and the bat sticking out its tongue.

thanks so much for the detailed post. Yes, I will edit the description of the fly catcher. Looking forward to seeing your images. Agree about the diversity and the colors of CR, completely blew me away.

I'm really jealous of the Quetzal. I spent time in Guatemala several times, but never saw one in real life.

appreciate the comment and yes we were so lucky to get the Quetzal shots. we were able to get 3 sighting, but the one posted here had the best BG and light.

Wow. Great pics. Really enjoyed the #1 Quetzal shot. I am new to bird watching and wanted to kindly ask for your advice on what setup to buy (ie which camera model, brand, lens and additional equipment you recommend I Purchase).

I live in Honduras and what to begin bird watching as a hobby. I would like to buy a setup that will be easy to use as a begginer and that an be used once I start improving my skills, ect.

What setup are you using. Canon? You mention the Model EOS5D Mark IV? With the Canon 500 mm lens?

Thank you in advance for your help and recommendations.

thanks LuisKafie. I use Canon MK4 + 500 mm prime lense with a 1.4 teleconverter if required. I also use the 5DMK3 + 100 -400 mm lense. These are my 2 main set ups for birds and mammals, ie., wildlife.

The equipment to use for Birdwatching is different than what you would use for Bird photography.I am assuming that you mean bird photography.If birds in Honduras are within reach and you are concerned about your budget and you want to go the Canon way, I would start with canon 7D2 or a 5Dmk 3 oe 5Dmk 4 with a 100-400 mm lense. There are many deals on Buy Sell forum of Fred Miranda that you can investigate or buy it locally in Honduras.You need a sturdy tripod with a Wimberly or similar head
