Lots of excellent shots! The snake shots are very nice, but you shoot venomous snakes with a 100mm macro? Too close!

overwhelming...............in a great way

That is an incredible amount of superb images to put together. There are numerous standouts too. I'm glad to see you presenting verticals (portraits). Just give a little more thought to the amount of the space above the subject, a few could be reduced IMO.

I do remember seeing you lovely images from CR. Good luck with your trip. Our experience was that the Quetzals are more easily seen in the mornings but each guide has their own theories.

thanks so much Dave. Yes I was also apprehensive about shooting with a 100 mm macro, but only shot when the snakes were peaceful and under the supervision of an snake expert who was with me all the time. In fact we could not take pictures of some snakes that he felt were too dangerous and he did not allow it, such as bush master.

These are all absolutely amazing. Impossible to pick a favorite but I really love the frogs. This set was so enjoyable to view I couldn't believe there were 40 images there. I could have looked at 40 more.

These are all gorgeous!!! WOW!!!

Besides that, all I can say is #14 (upset slithery fellow!) made me laugh pretty hard. What an expression!!!

Wonderful, KD! (I saw the thumbnail on the first image and knew it had to be your post--glad to see you're making your way through those terabytes of images!)

My favorites are the images with rain in the background, but what really stands out is the diversity. Not only of species and families, but also of "common" CR opportunities (toucans, eyelash vipers) but the really special ones (toucanet, becard).

Stay in touch and stay warm!

P.S. That's a Long-tailed Silky Flycatcher (even though the tail is not so long--it's a juvenile male I think); "Silky Flycatcher is a small family that includes our Phainopepla.
