Yeah... same dilemma for me. I was there the week before on a Saturday. I have been photographing Great Grays and Hawk Owls since the 1996, and this was by far the best weekend I have yet to experience with the species...
I'm glad you found the time to make the trip, as mine was a very similar adventure.... early morning departure and a great long day of shooting... if you are curious, this is a link to my blog... it is about the image that I posted on the Nature Board for the "Best of 2017." Thank you all for the nice comments. And a very special thanks to all of you who voted for me.

I am very honored and feeling proud too. This was one of my goals as a checkpoint of my progress in bird photography - to have one of my posts become the featured thread one day.
And this forum has played a critical part in that learning. Studying the awesome pictures posted by you guys, the helpful feedback and advice provided on my posts is all very invaluable.
