I got a Flashpoint based on the recommendation of people here. I mostly shoot travel and therefore don't use flash a lot, so I haven't run into this problem yet, but it would have been nice to have considered this issue before I bought. Can you point me towards a description of the "workaround" you mentioned? Thanks for your time.
I don't know if I'm allowed to link to "the competition" but this is from another forum. The issue is interspersed in posts to the linked thread. You can scroll back to find more info around the time it was originally noted, or forward to find posts re: the current state. The bottom line is at f/4 or higher, it tends to underexpose. Some have said that the underexposure varies, such that you can't simply dial in FEC to adjust. Others have said that no, it's a pretty stable underexposure so that you CAN simply take a shot, dial in FEC to compensate, and continue with TTL.
