p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Corona Beach Sunset, Corona Del Mar

These images were taken last weekend at Coroan Beach in Corona Del Mar.There was not much action in clouds when I got to the beach, which was about 45 minutes prior to sunset time. There was a thick marine layer and I could see little bit of sun. So I thought the sunset was not going to be of much value to photograph. Since I was there I hung around and tried different things. Once the sun dipped below the horizon, it was unbelievable. It almost felt like someone just flipped the switch and all the lights came on! My non photographer wife also taking pictures on her phone . Which helped be hang around a bit longer. Here are two images from last weeks truly magical moment!

Happy Holidays and thanks for viewing.

Wonderful set of images, Parul.
Both of them are fantastic, but I liked the first one more due to that subtle light on the rocks and the action in the water, both of which seem to be making the foreground more impactful.

Beautiful images, color, exposure and use of foreground techniques really add depth, scale and emotion to the compositions.

These are both terrific. But I am partial to the first one. Love the color and foreground. Thanks.

Great image. I like the second image, the wider view because I see more of the left foreground rock, which I think is quite interesting. There is more separation between the two tallest points as well, which adds interest.

These are splendid! I was thinking about going there after work yesterday and decided not to. Gah...sunset was amazing. Wish I went.

Gordon,I completely agree with you. The separation of two rocks adds more interest in the image. I just wish I would have time shot a little better to get the slow movement of water. Thanks for viewing and appreciate your feedback.

Ryan, yes, the sunset was absolutely spectacular. Like I said in my post, it almost felt like someone had turned on the lights😀. It was truly magical. Appreciate your comments and glad u liked it. BTW in post I didn't add any saturation or colors. Just bumped up some vibrance.

I saw that sunset - it was Sunday before last, right? I had planned a trip to El Matador fully expecting to see that kind of light but realized that doing so would make it impossible for me to get to my company's holiday party. But you've captured it amazingly here. Excellent excellent work.

Arka, you are absolutely right, it was Sunday before last! The lighting was truly magical. El Matador would be great to shoot with that kind of light. I have been to El Matador and it was like a zoo, and it's hard to get a clean shot. I am glad you liked it. Thanks for your comments. 😀
