Does anyone have any experience with getting a sigma lens repaired?
Sigma lists a few authorized shops as well as their own office in NY on their website.
Any particular one better than the other?

The zoom is stuck on my 24-105 art.
I bought the lens used and so it's not under warranty so I'm open to other repair shops.

The official Sigma service center would repair your lens with a fee. I believe the initial charge is $250. You can email them about your issue and they are very prompt with replies though.

I sent a lens to Sigma for service and got it back several days later. They had it for maybe 3 days. Excellent service

I had pretty fast service with them the 3-4 times I've used them. However I did find that I often was not updated on the status of either the repair or the verdict on what repairs were needed. I seemed to always be emailing asking the status of either of those things once they had the lens. One time they didn't let me know they even had the lens. However a phone call usually resolved really quickly this issue. I had emailed a couple times and no response so I called. They answered right away and got me an answer pretty quickly. The lady I spoke to which I believe was Debbie was really nice.

I got the lens back from sigma.
The experience I had was a little mixed.
Pretty much similar to what Seasentinel said.

The pros:
The lens came back in good working order.
Packaging was nice.
Cost to repair was $120+$25 return shipping so $145 total which wasn't too bad.

The cons:
Communication isn't great.
They didn't inform me that they received the lens until i asked them.
After getting the estimate I payed through their online system and waited for about a week assuming they were working on it or waiting for parts.
After a week passed I asked them if they had any updates and they told me they never got payment.
So I forwarded the receipt I got when I made the payment.
Next day they told me the lens got sent out and will inform me the tracking number soon.
Well, I never got the tracking number until i asked them.

It seems like they only check emails once a day in the morning because even if I reply to an email right after receiving them I wont get a response until the morning of next day.
If you need something quickly its probably best to call them to get updates and to confirm they got the payment.
