i believed the op is referring to setting the shutter on a time delay so you can also be in the photo.. :')

Totally understand, but when they look like they are holding their mouths shut to avoid showing teeth (especially the girl in the red), it is visually awkward IMO

The other girls' smiles look nice and natural, but not hers

Take the feedback and learn...or not - just an observation.

Ah, I see. We've done family portraits, but never just me and the girls. Interesting idea!

Sure thing. They were taken with my Canon 85 1.8 at 2.8, I think? It was near sunset (the "Golden Hour".) Some were front lit and others back (natural light.) For backlit, I made sure that there was plenty of open sky to light them in front. I exposed for the girls and brought back the sunset (lowered the exposure) in post. Hope that helps!
