Really!? Did you read the posts before yours?

Um, yeah. I didn't see what I was looking for. I want ultra wide (<18mm) and faster than f/2.8 on a Sony. Do you have anything to contribute, or should I expect more incredulity and sequential punctuation from you?

Laowa 15 f/2 maybe? Looks like a great lens, wish it had electrical contacts for EXIF, optically though it seems impressive. Other than that an the Rokinon 14 f/2.4 is supposedly a wee bit better than the Sigma 14 f/1.8 for astro taking into account, size, weight price and optical performance,

Thanks! A cousin of mine actually picked up the Rokinon so I should pick his brain as to what he thinks of it. I have a 14-24 f/2.8 for my Nikon camera but wonder if getting something even faster on the extreme wide angle will open up new possibilities for night photography. The Sigma intrigues me but for the fact that it's really heavy, but maybe I could live with that if it's the only lens (or one of two lenses) I am taking into the field with me.

Hadn't considered the 15mm Laowa closely so thank you for the recommendation!

Still not totally decided on which lenses to get, however I've settled on not buying any wide angle zooms. The weight and handling in hand along with absolute IQ (eliminating the f4 zoom) is just too important to me and carrying multiple lenses in my bag is a non-issue. I'm still very intrigued by the Laowa 15mm, but I will probably not purchase it initially.

My first wide lens will probably be the Batis 25mm. Then I will later decide if I prefer the Laowa or Batis 18mm for even wider shooting. I'm hoping Sigma knocks it out of the park with a native 35mm that I can grab in the next few months too. Then I'll also have the 55mm and 70-200/4. Sound like a solid plan?
