p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A Grand panorama

Thanksgiving evening, 2017 at Mather Point, South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I used 7 vertical frames on my 24-70 @ 70mm, but the finished panorama is using primarily the 5 images in the middle. The outside images are not cropped into much at all.

Thank you. I was quite please with the symmetry of the Colorado in this one as well.

Thanks. I actually really like the outside left frame of the image I cropped out, but I feel it makes the Pano aspect ratio look too long and slender. Perhaps when I get home, I'll post as much of the Pano, unprocessed, as I can to show a better idea of what I am working with. The far left that's not included has Yavapai point and people taking shots. It adds a nice perspective.

Here is the unedited version of the full pano. I'd love to incorporate the left side of the image using the people as perspective, but I feel it does not fit well with the symmetry of the image.

you may want to work that pano. the pano view shows the grandeur and expanse of the Grand Canyon.

I'd keep those people in the frame if I were you, Ryan.
The presence of people seems to be giving scale to the image in a rather impactful way.

Hey...yeah, i agree with what you both say, but I'm really bugged by how "thin" the pano becomes when I elongate it enough to include them.

I'll see what happens if I just do it and let it "grow" on me.

Lovely photo! If it were mine I would correct the curvature of the horizon line in Photoshop/Filter/Lens Correction/Custom/Remove distortion. Only drawback is you will lose some of the edges. Perhaps you cropped away some of the edges that you could put back in, so as to do this correction without losing any of the composition?
