Hate to start a thread like this because sometimes they get out of hand but if we could do this constructively as something to pass on to Sony for firmware updates.
One thing I noticed is AF focusing seems a little jumpy. I need to get outside in better light to test this but something I’m noticing.
Now I have yet to find certain things and maybe I’m missing them
My Menu can we get that at least in the Fn menu
Still trying to figure this out but love to see a way you can group let’s say Eye Af, Af-c, wide area ,shooting mode, drive mode and more options into a recall button that you can assign to a custom function. It’s seems limited
I’m still churning through some of this and maybe not seeing it...Show more →
Guy , with regards to grouping settings into a recall button I’ve read you can do this (can’t test as I have a7rii) however here is a cut and paste from someone on the Sony forum in potn (he’s also on FM as Mystik)
“a7rIII/a9 shooters....anyone ever use the recall custom hold toggles? I saw this setting on the a9 but sort of glossed over it, but its actually really useful. You basically program a set of exposure and focus settings, and if you map a particularly recall custom hold setting to a button it will toggle those exposure settings and engage the AF with those settings. I mapped my c4 button to a recall custom hold setting with a wide focus area, AF-C, and high continuous shooting...that way if I need to shoot something quickly on the fly and my AF point is locked in the wrong position, I can quickly hit C4 to start the AF with those settings. It basically becomes a third back button focus button (eye AF being the other) that overrides the AF selection and focuses wide when needed. You can use these custom hold settings for things like SS, aperture, ISO...whatever you think you might need to quickly toggle on the fly.”
