Snow is a rare sight for us in the deep south.
Today brought a mix of sleet, rain and snow all at the same time. It was quite damp and cold for us

It was fun trying to get the hummers in the snow and sleet. They were all fluffed up trying to stay dry and warm.

You just keep being such an inspiration Birdied! These are great, as always!

Looks like pretty harsh weather, which I love, not only is it great fun being out in but it also adds a very different mood and atmosphere to the images

Nice images Roberta. For me the second shows what is happening best and its quite crisp.

Very unusual at least for me to see a humming bird in these conditions. Great job thanks for taking the time. They are one tough little bird.

Rasmus, you are always so very kind, thank you . I got so cold being out in all the cold rain and sleet, it took me forever to get warm

I can definitely say I was cold , that dampness just chilled me to the bones.

Nice! It’s refreshing to shoot in snowy conditions - as you get a very different look. You don’t see too many hummingbird images in the snow. I lived in London for 5 years and it snowed only once, and boy was it exciting, as everything looked so different. Apparently it snows in London about once every 5 years.

Good ones, Birdie. I like shooting them in these conditions. Not always normal. You've got something on me . Rufous in the snow. They are never hear this time of year. Get some more.

Very unusual conditions for us. We don't get snow but maybe every 8 to 10 years on average. We actually had snow one time on Christmas Day in 2004

I think the last time it showed here was 2008 or 2009. We don't get it often at all and it is quite a thrill .

I think they may have been surprised to have that kind of weather, but they really are tough little birds.
