I sprayed the dandelion seed head with water and placed a flower behind it so that the drops would pick up the reflection.

I'm not sure how many of this flock survived the recent hurricane that caused severe devastation throughout the Virgin Islands.

My favorite shot that I took in the first quarter of 2017. Great Gray Owl from upstate New York. It was dark and cold with blowing snow.

An Eastern Coyote family had moved in to Valley Forge over the winter. In March, they had two pups, one of whom is pictured here at 9 weeks old. They were not much bigger than house cats then. Adult males look like scrawny German Shepherds and can weigh up to 60 lbs. The coyotes' arrival has radically altered the behavior of the valley's formerly unwary deer. The herbivores mostly stick to the edges of the woods and bolt at the slightest provocation.

Shreeni, what a nice comment - thanks! I think I remember that day, and as I walking off the field at dusk, I said a word of thanks to the owls for sharing their time with me. It was a special day. I am glad that folks enjoy this image!
