These two hawks were very photogenic, the Red Shoulder was just outside of a local pet store (looking for food?) on a power line and the Coopers was at our local wildlife sanctuary, SJWS.

Excellent photos.
The red shoulders on the red-shouldered hawk are clear. The tail on the red-tailed hawk to does not look red to me. The red-tailed hawk does not have the multiple bands on the tail feathers. I believe you have a juvenile Cooper's hawk.
Regardless, it's an excellent photograph.

Well done. All the hawks near me are always facing the field and I can't get a good head shot. your pictures are great.
