I've only just begun sorting through images from my most recent trip, but thought this one stood out as worth sharing. Time of capture was roughly 35 minutes before sunrise on Thanksgiving day (November 23rd).

That's a great looking image with $8K camera/lens combo.

Thank you, Ryan! I went ahead and corrected the date in the original post.

Hey Joseph, this is really sweet. A little different than all the other billion shots of mesa we see. Nicely done.

Beautiful image! Perhaps my favorite from that location. Lot's of dynamic range captured with no detail lost. Wonderful job...Kevin

nice shot - different and very detailed - how many people were there? it is getting so crowded there hard to get a shot without staking out a spot at 3 am -

I've seen tons of shot from this location and never get tired of it. Yours is very nice.

I believe there were 4 other tripods lined up when I took this photo, and just 2 when I first arrived at the arch more than an hour before sunrise (a little before 6am, sunrise was at 7:09am). The first photographer mentioned he had arrived at 4am, but I don't feel like I missed much by arriving when I did, I was pretty happy with the framing I had. More people started filing in at about 30 minutes before sunrise and we had a crowd by 10 minutes to sunrise. I attribute some of that crowd to the holiday; late fall/winter seems like a good time of year to shoot this location, you do not have to get up nearly as early and there are fewer visitors in the park.

Nice you kept the shadows dark. I really like the natural post-processing and overall composition.
Best,
Fred
