I think there are some folks who are using the Canon 35mm 1.4 II and/or the Canonnor 24mm 1.4 II on their Sony bodies.

I would be very interested to hear about your experiences and satisfaction with these lenses on Sony bodies, both in terms of image quality and AF, etc.

Would you prefer to exchange those lenses for native glass, like the Sony 35mm 1.4 or the Batis 25mm 2.0?

Or do prefer the Canon glass in these specific lenses to the Sony native alternatives?

I own the 35mm 1.4 L ii after trying 3 copies of the Zeiss and one Sigma. For MY needs the Canon is just a lot better. IQ is amazingly sharp wide open across the frame (crucial for my environmental portraits) which was an issue with the Zeiss as its sharpness wide open drops dramatically fast moving away from the center.
No CA and bokeh is actually to me overall on par with the Zeiss which really surprised me. AF is fast in green mode with metabones and pretty good in advaced mode if you want Eye AF.
I personally do not see a reason to change this beast.

I assume you are not using an a9 or a7r3 with the Canon. Given how green and advanced mode work in relation to pdaf and cdaf, is there a possibility that eye focus will work with the Canon on an a9 or a7r3?

Also, how do you like the rendering on the Canon. Rendering/bokeh is considered one of the strong points of the Zony.

Not yet..waiting for my A7R3 to arrive...not patiently lol I expect Eye AF to work under PDAF with the A7R3 but cannot be 100% sure. That would be a nice plus for sure.
Rendering was one thing that really surprised me because they traded blows. Some areas the Zeiss would look a bit better then other areas the Canon would look better so overall I found them on equal terms. The Sigma I tested was nowhere near the same level of rendering as the Canon or Zeiss though.

I got both Canon 24L II and Batis 25. The choice is simple for me, the Batis is much sharper, has smooth bokeh, excellent coma performance and virtually no field curvature. The 24L II has harsh bokeh, less sharp at wide apertures, worst coma performance of any lens I ever owned and some field curvature. Maybe some might prefer F1.4 and the Canon's "character" but I am not one of them, I never use the Canon.

Because I had the 55mm before , the 24mm canon was the one I looked at before getting the 35mm. I was not impressed with it either.

I have a soft spot for the 24 f1.4L, I've loved this lens ever since I got it (I got a bargain used one on a crop Canon when I was first getting really into photography). I've always felt the 24L II had super nice bokeh, and maybe I was lucky but mine never lacked for sharpness and produced images with heaps of microcontrast. I really love the colour response of this lens as well. I've had a mixed bag using it on my a7rii. The lens's defects are more clear, even when applying a profile in lightroom. It is also just no where near as pleasant to handle on the camera...on my 5d it feels so solid and smooth and awesome but on the a7rii it feels like this weird contraption.

However, if you are using an a7rii I would have to recommend the Batis 25 instead. It is super sharp and has pretty good rendering and colour.
