p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Weaver's Needle and Superstition Wilderness

For the second Saturday in a row I got up at 4am and hiked in the dark to Weaver's Needle. It was cloudy when the sun came up and I got some color for just a few seconds. This is rugged country. All images with Canon 6D and Contax C/Y 35-135/3.3-4.5 vario-sonnar and Contax C/Y 28/2.8

I love to see new locations and this one is very spectacular. It looks unforgiving.
The first two shots are the most interesting IMO. Both are good, showing the vastness and the height of this rock. Great job.

Thanks to you both. It is very unforgiving country. The trail is treacherous because of the rocks. Each step needs to be taken deliberately or a twisted ankle will ensue. But the view from the top is outstanding! It’s not quite as breathtaking as getting to the top of Glacier Point in Yosemite, but close.
