I’ve use them for lenses, mostly Sony E and FE and never had a problem. I would surmise that you’re probably safe with less expensive consumer grade lenses, since people probably just return them after realizing the focal length doesn’t work for them. I would expect more expensive full frame lenses may be more likely to have been rejected by critical professionals due to flaws, but I don’t have evidence of that.
