This is great news although I do expect future versions to be paid only as it was when Nik was controlling the software. I wonder if they will offer upgrade pricing to people who have paid versions(like me)?
I have been using Nik plugins for many years now, and like them a lot. This is good news for me. I have no problem paying DxO if they wind up adding new value to the software (e.g., new or improved features). I had been worried that one day the plugins would no longer work in Photoshop.

DXO also released an upgrade to Optics Pro, today, named PhotoLab (http://www.dxo.com/us/photography/ph...e/dxo-photolab). PhotoLab apparently incorporates NIK U-Point technology. Could be interesting.

The u-point tech is really good, I wish it was in lightroom.
Lets hope they take a look at Nikon Capture 2 and see what the NIK software guys did for them with they integrated the U-Point. It was much better than the stand alone plug-ins.
I foresee no more photoshop plug-in updates. Or if specifically it won't work with lightroom. They want to make a lightroom competitor.

I was thrilled when I saw that my plugins worked for PSCC 2017 but not as much when I realized the plugins weren't compatible with PSCC 2018....now maybe they will update them and all will we right with the world

Agree 100%! I wish Nikon Capture NX2 was reincarnated in some form...
Supposedly DXO has current NIK's available right now for download. All I have to do it give them my email address and they will send me the link. 3 times I have tried it and three times I searched high and low for the link and 3 times I failed.

Try downloading from Google instead. It was available from them in its original location, and I downloaded it about an hour ago.
