Like so many other things Photographers pre-occupy themselves with, The clients won't know or give a damn about storage format.

Rather than over analyse pictures, they make their good/ bad picture assessment in 2 sec based primarily on content not complicated technical merit.

For the actual OP question, "irrelevant" is the correct answer. The compression in this case does not result in image issues, as it would in something such as the jpg format. (ie: degraded shadows, etc.) Either is fine.

If you want to save space, use compressed Raw. (if you have the option... some cameras do not offer additional options) If you don't care about space, use lossless. This is really the only consideration in this case. There really is no benefit of shooting uncompressed RAW.

We process / archive everything in Lossy DNG. Final client output is processed with JPEGmini Pro.

This creates larger files than regular compressed RAW. There is no difference in image quality. (outside software interpretation, of course)

Might try that. I went with DNG as Lightroom seemed to like it more (chew on it faster).

RAW, compressed or not, or lossless. All the same result... except file size.

I have seen no difference on either Sony or Nikon...so now I always use compressed.

Easy enough to do a few 8x10 test prints and see for yourself. Enlarge to where an image would be 20x24 in size and crop out a 8x10 section for the test print.

I would be more interested in evaluating 12-bit versus 14-bit lossless compressed with actual prints. People's skin is often quite demanding and where tonal issues are most noticeable as we all know what skin is supposed to look like. The old Canon 5D produce high ISO images with low noise but the skin had a very plastic look.
