An excellent set.

The species is easily recognisable as one of the Scentless Plant Bugs, Rhopalidae.

Ed, nice comp..back it the 60's the fence in our backyard was solid oak post and pickets and every year these bugs would be all over our fence. Hundreds of them. I was probably 7 -8 years old I would shoot them off the fence with my BB gun . After I ran out of BB's I discovered I could take the pellet shaped rabbit food and stick it in the muzzle end if the barrel then use a small rod to set it cock the gun and keep on shooting those things. It probably wasn't the nicest thing to do, but it kept me entertained.

Yes, probably Boisea trivittata.

That is one way to control them.

The do form large groups. These were from a big colony on a box elder. Pics of single individuals looked better IMO.

Most all the trees in the neighborhood where we were , were hackberry trees . there was one in the back yard that was half dead.
