Dave, they tend to come up higher roughly from mid August to mid September near the edge of the mountain, feeding on crickets, dragonflies and small prey making it easy to spot and photograph the little feller. When the bugs are all gone they revert back into the thick forest below where its nearly impossible to spot them. They are very territorial and to the best of my knowledge do not migrate. Last year my last sighting was September 26th.
