BastianK,
What's your opinion on the example images so far?
I think they're better than what I expected.

This is still a tough one to answer.
So far I can't judge if there is a midzone dip, that I have unfortunately also seen in many (not only 35mm) lens designs lately.
Onion rings look better than expected so far. Much less pronounced compared to the likes of FE 35mm 1.4 ZA or FE 55mm 1.8 ZA.
But also worse compared to VM 35mm 1.7 or Loxia 21mm 2.8 (both only have an aspehrical rear lens, not front lens).
Background bokeh looks very smooth in general, but the transition zone in the shot with the bottles does not look as good to me. More like in the old days and definetly not what I was hoping for.
Mechanical vignetting is strong, as was to be expected. Cat's eyes are very much pronounced, but compared to the Zhong Yi 50mm 0.95 at least not lemon-shaped :-)
So far this looks like a really versatile, interesting and tempting lens.
If I was still using one of the 4 native 35mm options I would have already preordered one for sure.
What I am not sure about is how it stacks up against my VM35mm 1.7 + 5m PCX filter.
The latter is a really competent small package, maybe better in some areas than the 1.2/40 (coma? corner sharpness? loCA correction?), worse in some others (speed, electronic contacts).
This is also the reason I haven't preordered one (yet?).
But I am a bit nitpicking here, for anyone who does not want to mess around with those filters and/or wants a small, native and versatile lens in this focal length segment it looks like a winner so far.
