No your fine. Mine was the same without it too. Never moved. Crazy

See if it changes when you get your PCX. Mine never changed from that spot

Fred I'm just going to send my extra adapter. That makes me nervous. I'll throw in the 46-52 and 46-55 in the box.

Wait, if you are just after the 3m mark without the PCX, my adapter may not make it. I'm almost at the beginning of the infinity symbol!

Yea you got me worried. I'm sending the backup adapter and some rings. I want to make sure you got it until you get one that actually works. This is the part that pisses me off is this variance stuff

Thanks bud! Don't forget to add some Starbucks gift cards on the box!
If my adapter works with the PCX, I will send it back to you.

Fred I think you need a 46-55 step up for your rig. I don't have a extra. Order that from Amazon. I got a extra 46-52 but that may not work.

I send Monday morning

Thanks bud!

I went outside and captured some sunstars. That's something the CV has the advantage over the FE imo.
Mostly at f/4 and some at f/5.6. Disregard the very edges of the frame. Without the PCX, they will be sharp due to FC but with the 5m front-lens, the edges should look soft.

Wide-open (f/1.7) -- Disregard the edges on top. Without the PCX, this will look funky

Thanks for the medium distance bokeh test, Fred! I think the CV looks very good for how small it is. I suspect the corners will be a bit funky even with the filter though, but that goes for most smallish, fast 35 mm lenses.
Probably the outlining of the blur discs will be lesser when stopped down a little bit too, which is how I usually shoot my Loxia.

If the new 40/1.2 doesn't render better at medium distances, I'll probably get the Ultron and a filter.

I will be testing both against each other.

Though Oct. 5 is the rumored US announcement date, it may be a while to get one in hand.
I'm planning on getting the Ultron+5mPCX soon. My only question is used or new on the 35/1.7 Ultron.

John I have had 3 of them both new and used. Never a issue. This one is used

Yes, but they are shot at shorter distances than I refer to as "mid range".

A typical image to show what I'm after, with Loxia 35 @ f/4:

Loxia bokeh by Martin Hertsius, on Flickr

The Loxia is very unusual, giving nicer bokeh the further away you focus. Which is perfect to me. Therefore almost all "bokeh tests" are useless (to me) since they are shot at ~1-2 meters.

Edit: Or this, with the ZF 35/1.4 wide open:

The blobs around the lights are from the original a7 sensor filter stack.

Edit: Or this, with the Voigtländer 40/1.4 (probably at f/2):
